Here I am talking about all the sacrifices I make for college radio: (play "Party All Night") on the WXYC blog.

Chromeo DJ Kicks

Is so good! I was feeling all disillusioned about WXYC, my (and Corey's) local college radio station, until I saw this wonderful lil' disc in heavy rotation. Yeah yeah, it's been out for a while, but "heavy rotation" is a big deal at WXYC because usually it's reserved for re-issues of obscure world recordings from the 1940's, death metal I can't tell is ironically valued or not, and lots and lots of noise. SO you take what you can get.
Chromeo is always either really good or really bad to me; they occupy a weird space between "being in on the joke" and "not," like they take themselves seriously despite everything. Plus, a lot of their songs have a one-dimensional kind of catchy quality--remember the first time you heard the Postal Service? and how quickly you got over it? There's just not much to most of their songs.
Somehow the DJ Kicks is different, though, and it is so sweet. Too lazy to embed an mp3 or two, but here at the "official site" you can stream some of it. If you have no other means of obtaining it, I can burn you a copy. Just email us at hifever40@yahoo.com and I'll ship it on out to you!
PS: Do you like this powerful art portraying real DJs at work?

Tue Jamz

I need info on this 80's funk group, the net is void. Note: This song would have been featured on Lovey Lovell's Junior Prom Mix (unfortunately, that project has been canceled. sorry kids).
Funk Deluxe - This Time
First track off this Finnish guy's debut album, released last month on Planet Mu. Categorized in the Skwee genre.
Skwee = synth leads + basslines + (funk or RnB or soul rhythms)?
